Farmland preservation focus of Whatcom Food Network’s Fall Forum

Bellingham – The Whatcom Food Network’s Fall Forum on Thursday, Nov. 9 will focus on the state of farmland both regionally and locally, highlighting the challenges and solutions to farmland loss and accessibility. Hannah Clark, the Executive Director of the Washington Association of Land Trusts, will present information as well as a panel of local farmers and professionals working on farmland preservation in Whatcom County. In addition to the presentation and panel, attendees will have a chance to network with other professionals and hear highlights from the 2017 Whatcom Community Food Assessment Update that will be debuted at the Forum. The Fall Forum is free and runs 1-4 p.m. at the Ferndale Public Library, 2125 Main St. Attendees must RSVP as space is limited.
