WSFNC annual conference coming up

TUKWILA – The Washington State Food and Nutrition Council will hold its annual conference at the Tukwila Community Center on Oct. 19. he organization, which advocates for food, agriculture, and nutrition programs, services, and education, invites attendees for a day of learning and networking as members of the Washington food system describe their projects and efforts to improve nutrition and food access in Washington state, including in hospitals, restaurants, and communities. This year’s conference is titled “What’s Cooking in Washington’s Food Environments.” Panelists will include Tilth Community Kitchen Program Manager, Leika Suzumura; chef and local food advocate Becky Selengut; Jennifer Hinson of the Chicken Soup Brigade and Michele Catalano from Full Circle Farms. Registration is $40 per student, $75 per member and $125 for non-members. The conference will be held 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  at the Tukwila Community Center, 12424 42nd Ave South, Tukwila.
