LYNDEN – A workshop and webcast about leasing farmland by WA FarmLink & WSU Whatcom Extension will be presented at BelleWood Acres Farm on Wednesday, Oct. 24 from 5 to 8:30 p.m. Leasing is one of the most common ways growers access farmland, and this workshop will discuss best practices, legalities, insurance, and hear how seasoned farmers have made successful leasing arrangements. Speakers include: attorney Lesa Starkenburg Kroontje (Legal Side of Leasing Land); Lesa Boxx, Financial Representative, COUNTRY(r) Financial (Insurance and Farming); and a Farmer Panel with Amy Fontaine, of Terra Verde Garden, and Clayton Burrows, of Growing Washington. A light and local dinner will be served for those who can attend in person, catered by Bellewood Acres. This workshop is free.
